Act On What You Know
“To think is easy. To act is hard. But the hardest thing in the world is to act in accordance with our thinking.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
I can’t count how many times this has been true in my own life. I often know the right thing to do, but don’t follow through. Maybe it’s fear. Maybe it’s doubt. Maybe it’s inconvenience. Regardless of the reason, the result is the same.
Just the other night, a young woman approached me outside a store asking for help. She explained her situation, and my immediate response was, “I’m sorry, I don’t carry cash.” That was true. But as I drove away, I knew I could
have done more. I could have followed her to a gas station and used my debit card.
