Be a great teammate

One of my former coaches used to say something very similar. Sometimes it was even written on the board in the locker room: “Good players make themselves better. Great players make their team better.”

This is about more than being a team player. It’s about sacrificing for the good of the group.

I remember group projects in school. The first thing I wanted to know was which part of the assignment was mine. I just wanted to do my piece and move on.
