Little Ones are Watching
I had a high school coach who constantly reminded us that the little ones were watching. I knew exactly what he meant.
Growing up, I watched my local high school basketball players closely. I copied everything they did. How they tied their shoes. How they wore their socks. If they slapped the floor before a defensive possession, I did the same thing in my next biddy ball game.
And if they cussed after striking out, then the next time I was in the front yard with my dad pitching to me, I cussed too.
That was a short lesson in the front yard that day. Just because the big kids do it doesn’t mean I should.
