Never Stop Learning

“If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.” – Derek Bok

I think both sides of this quote are true. Traditional education is expensive. Tuition alone can cost tens of thousands of dollars a year, and that doesn’t even include room, board, and all the extras that come with it. So yes, education in that sense is expensive.

But when I read this quote, I don’t think about education in the traditional classroom sense. I think about learning in general. Gaining knowledge. Growing every day.

In his famous ESPY speech, Jimmy Valvano said there are three things we should try to do every day: laugh, think, and cry. I agree completely. And if you haven’t seen that speech, I highly recommend watching it.
