Stop Talking, Start Doing
“The way to get started is to stop talking and start doing.” – Walt Disney
What is it that you need to stop talking about and start doing?
Maybe it’s a project around the house. A business idea. A tough conversation. A kind gesture you keep meaning to do but never get around to.
Life is really good at giving us reasons why now isn’t the right time. But if we’re honest, most of those reasons are just excuses. Excuses for why we aren’t where we want to be.
Here’s an exercise.
Write down the thing you want to do. Next to it, write down every obstacle standing in your way. Money. Time. Fear. Uncertainty. Whatever it is.
Then take a new sheet of paper. Write the first obstacle at the top. Under it, write ways to overcome it. Put a date next to each step.
If money is the obstacle, write down ways to raise it. Cut back. Sell something. Pick up a side job. Then put a deadline on it.
